Big changes in Berkeley as a US Post Office prepares to close its doors for good. The building was built back in 1915 and has been in iconic building in Berkeley's civic downtown area. They say not to worry, all carrier, bulk, and retail services will still be available, only relocated.
You may be wondering how do you move a post office, or state/commercial office. The answer to this is actually what you would expect, a local Berkeley business moving company. They do commercial moves all the time and have the logistical capabilities to make the move go flawlessly.
As the US Postal Service continues to spend more than they make, it is very likely that is closure is just one of many to come. The building is to be closed then sold as surplus real estate.
